SMTP/Router stripping file attachment header(?)

I have this weird problem.

I have an application on a different Server which has it’s own SMTP engine. Everything worked fine with notes client & server 5.0.11.

I upgraded the server to 6.5 and some clients to 6.5.1

The 5.0.11 clients (6.5 server) were receiving PDF attachments just fine through the VB application with it’s own SMTP engine.

The 6.5.1 clients were having a problem with the PDF. The file was being renamed something arbitrary such as “atteiznj.dat” instead of a name like “QT0409-MyName.PDF”

But, when I extract the DAT file and rename it PDF it opens just fine. This is true on 6.5.1 clients with the Server DB 6.5 or the DB 5.0.11

Any outside clients (such as abcdef@yahoo.com)are receiving the PDF without any problems.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Thanks

Subject: SMTP/Router stripping file attachment header(?)

I had a similar problem with 6.5.1. iNotes corrupted PDFs by only sending the file information, but no content if they were created with Acrobat pre-V6. PDF’s created with V6 passed through correctly. Worked with support on this Friday, they could not duplicate but were running 6.5.2. On Saturday I installed 6.5.2 and the problem is gone.

If plan to upgrade and use iNotes heavily, see my iNotes 6.5.2 thread from earlier today about the CC field before upgrading.
