SMTP Error 550 : no Such user here

Hi !

my company is having its domain registered xyz.com & using a third party software names vpop. whcih sends and fetches the mail to and from internet and users get it in their outlook express.

Now we are planning to remove this vpop & instead want to deploy Lotus domino 6.5 as our mail server. for testing we have setupup our first server & setup 2 clients. which are working fine for internal mailing. The problem is in mailing to internet & getting the mail from internet.

We have created

  1. Foreign SMTP Domain named The Internet

  2. A Connection Doccument (having ip of our mail.xyz.com)

in SMTP Relay host.

Now when we try to mail to some one in the internet it returns the mail

saying 530: no such user here.

why my mail bounce back by stating eroor no such user?

Hi,

You didn’t gave the whole configuration and details, so I can’t explain what is going on.

I can maybe give a clue if you look in the configuration document, pay special attention to SMART HOST.

IF this is not the case, give more details and someone will be able to help you.
