Hi, I’ve a problem I can’t solve
I configured an smtp domain in the global domain doc : xxx.be
I also set an alias in the next field of servers.xxx.be
I have a smart host configured also…
What we try to do is to accept mails sent to userx@servers.xxx.be
These users don’t exists, but we do NOT want to forward mails to @servers.xxx.be to the smart host, but trap it somehow…
I know a strange situation ,but it’s needed
I tried working with rules in the config doc, but it seems recipîent lookups gets handled first… not the rules.
I also tried with smtp internet sites, but it keeps complaining about smtp authentication ect
Does anyone has another idea to accomplish this ?

Subject: does not work
if you check the admin help, you’ll see that ‘Inbound Intended Recipients Controls’ does not work with smart hosts, which would be your solution. Do you really need smart hosts? Aren’t the other mailservers also notes servers?
This is the important note in the document ‘Configuration Settings document - Router/SMTP - Restrictions and Controls - SMTP Inbound Controls tab’:
When this setting is enabled, and there is an entry in the field “Local Internet domain smart host”, messages that cannot be resolved are not accepted; therefore, they will not be forwarded to the smart host. When this setting is enabled, and the field “Smart host is used for all local Internet domain recipients” is enabled, only those messages sent to recipients that can be resolved are accepted, and these will be forwarded to the smart host.
