I have used SMIME sign / encrypt since release 5.05 and everything was ok…
when we upgraded to release 6.01, we got this message “certificate chain could not be constructed”…
I hoped that release 6.03 helps to solve my problem but no good news …
So I installed release 6.5 but the error is the same!.
Plese help!

Same problem for me. I’ve requested a Thawte certificate, successfully imported it into IE, then exported this certificate both to .p7b and .pfx formats. But when I try to import them into my Notes ID (in Note 6.5.1 client), I am getting the same error message every time…
Any help?
