When we move a Lotus Note ID file from XP/Lotus Notes 6 to Vista/Lotus Notes 8 it does not work. We get an error “Insert Smartcard”. The ID files have been enabled with smartcard access in Lotus Notes 6, but the same ID file will not work in Lotus Notes 8. We then have to recreate the ID files and reconfigure them to work with the Notes 8. This is a major problem as we are trying to automate the rollout of Notes to many users. The active card driver software is a later version on Vista/Notes 8 than on XP/Notes 6 and we dont use single sign on. Has anyone seen this problem?
Subject: Have you tested the N/D and OS upgrades independently?
If you upgrade from ND6 to ND8 on XP, does it still work?If you upgrade from XP to Vista on ND6, does it still work?
That should help narrow down where the incompatibility is being introduced.

I will though, and it may help narrow it down. I’m beginning to think it might be to do with the later Vista access card drivers, which means I cant change them as it would affect the OS access. Thanks.
