Smart Upgrade

Hello,

I try to use Smart Upgrade to update clients from 6.0 to 6.0.1.

We have client running on W2K and Mac platforms.

All are UK.

We have Notes Clients, Domino Designers and Domino Administrators.

It is not very clear for me how to define the upgrade kit : since the “source version field” seems to be used as key to trigger the update process, what should I mention here as value for my current Notes version: 6.0 ? Release 6.0 ? Release 6.0 September 26, 2002 ?

If I try to use the “File\Tools\Notes Smart Upgrade” menu, I get this error message : “Unable to locate an upgrade kit for you in the Smart Upgrade database DOMINO04/EASI smupgrade.nsf”

If I want to use a desktop policy to enforce the client update, what do I have to put as value in the “deploy version” field : 6.0.1 Full/Lite ? Will the upgrade process determine the right language or the right platform automatically ?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I had a similar problem running a win2k client against a Linux server. In the kit document, try specifying “Release 6.0” as the source version instead of just “6.0” That did the trick for me.

I couldn’t get this to work after a short attempt.I’m assuming this only work for Notes clients, not admin or design clients.

Can somebody tell me how to setup the package fully. I set the source to be “Release 6.0” and destination “Release 6.0.1” but nothing happened.

Any good ideas, would be nice to see this working in my test environment.

Thanks,

Ben

That worked for me. Thanks. Is this documented anywhere? All the texts I found were a bit vague on the field descriptions.
