I am trialing a policy driven smart upgrade from Release 7.0.2 to 7.0.3. I am using C16I7EN.exe in the SU kit as my trial PC runs all of the clients. The upgrade goes as expected and reports that it succeeded. Except the SU Log indicates it failed and that the starting release is the same as the final release (7.0.2). There are no other log entries that indicate any errors and I am logged in as a member of the administrators group in both Windows and Domino. I am also using the C1617EN.exe directly from PassPort Advantage without any RunAs modifications. Thinking I may have downloaded the wrong .EXE I have run it manually on another PC and it performed the upgrade correctly.
The logs all seem to indicate it is going from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3
The only thing I can think of is that something is not returning the correct final Release id. Either the notes client or Windows 2000 and perhaps the registry.
