I have experienced a big problem with the field “no proxy for these hosts or domains” in the location document:
This field as well as the proxy server entries are populated via a desktop policy settings document. It seems that this field is limited in size. If there are too many entries, the Notes client (6.5.2) crashes each time the user opens an HTML mail. The field content can even not be changed (or deleted) anymore via policy in order to resolve the problem. However, it can be changed or deleted manually by the user. After deleting all entries the problem with the HTML mails disappears.
I have also found that the no proxy entries are not necessary in the location document. Local URLs can still be accessed via the Notes client even if the field is empty. I guess the proxy settings from IE are used as “Notes with Internet Explorer” is defined as browser in the location document.
Does anybody have an idea how I can force the Notes clients to delete the entries in the “no proxy for these hosts or domains” field? If this is not possible, I would have to tell the users to to it manually by themselves.
Thanks
