Single-user license for HCL Notes

Hi,

How can I buy a single-user license for Notes and Domino? I just want to run a single on-prem server (non-production) for playing around with (I used to be a fulltime Notes dev/admin +- 10 years ago). I tried contacting business partners in my country, but they are not interested in selling a license for a single individual as they never seem to reply (too much overhead compared to the potential revenue I guess).

Anyone can tell me what the cheapest option would be and if it would be possible to buy from HCL directly?

PS: Not interested in running a server on the cloud, so no external hosting suggestions please.

Sorry I can't help, but i feel your pain!. I am having a similar issue trying to get a new quote for under 10 licences.

Im in india.

I have bought a complete collaboration license for 5 users which isnt too much.

This was for trial and dev effort for an end user. In fact if you needed to host just a web application for anonymous users or even for known guest scenario with edit action for known guests ( with auth workarounds ...for reader access with permission to write public documents) all you would need is a single user license.

This is as per their own documentation.

Pse see this link ...

This effectively implies a single user license is indeed kosher especially to support older use cases of utility server licensing. This covers your case also.

My main issue is that I can't a business partner willing to sell me a single-user license.

we are a business partner. Please send me your details and let me try and raise an opportunity for your case. And see how it goes.
Im based out of india.

@anon-2618 How did you get a single license for home use? I have been trying for months to find one. I am getting back into Domino development after 10 years out of the game. I appreciate any help - thanks!

One available option is to create a guest case into the customer support portal:

You don’t have to be previously registered and you can explain what you need. That’s not only for technical issues but for license issues.

Mindwatering provides this service for our smaller clients. We can do just one. Since HCL took over and even with IBM and the “express” offering, you don’t have a server license anymore, you pay for each Person (user ID/seat), not your devices (e.g. my workstation, my laptop, and my mobile phone). Go to our mindwatering.com web site –> Contact
