Single Sign On on Windows 7 - 64bit

Hello

I was hoping that 8.5.1 FP1 fixes the issue, that Notes Client SSO isn’t working on windows 7 - 64bit.

well seems not working still, anyone got another solution for that problem?

Thanks!

kind regards

Subject: Single Sign On on Windows 7 - 64bit

We’ll I can confirm that this is still not working in 8.5.1 FP1 on Windows 7 64-bit:- Performed a clean install of Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)

  • Installed Lotus Notes 8.5.1

  • Applied Fix Pack 1

  • Rebooted

  • Launched Lotus Notes and was prompted for my password.

I’ve poured over the event logs and can’t find anything related to issues with the SSO service. The service appears to have started without error, but it just doesn’t seem to be working correctly.

Does anyone have information on whether 8.5.1 FP2 will address this, or if this might be fixed in 8.5.2?

Thanks for any help.

Subject: RE: Single Sign On on Windows 7 - 64bit

It does not work in 8.5.2 CD4, which is the latest build available to managed beta participants.

FYI,I can confirm that this still does not work after installing Fix Pack 2

Subject: Re: Single Sign On on Windows 7 - 64bit

Come on IBM… Lotus Notes 8.5.2 + 64-bit Win7?

With 8.5.2, SSO works properly under Windows 7 (32-bit). However, it is still prompting for a password under 64-bit. We’ve been patiently awaiting a resolution to this issue for 4 Fix Packs and now a new full release. The comments attached to SPR# JZJZ7XA7FS (“this behavior is by design”) are a complete cop-out in my opinion. Yes, I have finally reached the level of anger about the situation. Yes, there are actually clients out there that need to use SSO and not “Single Logon” in a 64-bit environment. Yes, we are looking for alternative products now…

Subject: Notes Single Logon W64

It isn’t “by design”, I’m not sure where you read that. What has been said is that Notes Shared Login is the recommended Notes Client SSO option and, at this time, there are no plans for a W64 Single Logon fix. Have you opened an incident with IBM support. That is your best option.

Subject: SSO - Citrix constraint

Running Domino 8.5.2 64 bit and clients in a Citrix environ. Help indicates that Shared Login does not work for Citrix environments.

Any ideas on implementation of SSO ?

Subject: SAML SSO solution for Citrix

We are aware of SSO issues with Notes on Citrix. We are working on an SSO solution leveraging SAML security technology to address this issue. Our SAML efforts were announced at Lotusphere 2012. If you have access to Lotusphere presentation id111, you can find more information on this topic.

Subject: Opened an incident

As suggested, opened an incident at IBM ESR to raise priority to fix that issue asap. I strongly invite everyone suffering from that issue to do the same.We are heavily relying on Domino LDAP for authentication in 3rd party systems, so moving to NSL and thereby starting an Internet password maintenance nightmare is no option for us. Not mentioning other issues with blackberry/iphone/iNotes ID based mail encryption which rely on passwords stored and synchronized in the ID Vault ID copies.

Subject: seems to be fixed in Notes Client 8.5.2 FP2

i just updated Notes Client 8.5.2 to Notes Client 8.5.2 Fixpack 2 on Windows 7 64 Bit and SingleSignOn works!

Subject: Problem in SSO on Notes 8.5.3 with Win 7 64bit

Hi,

I recently updated my Notes to 8.5.3 from 8.5.2 FP2 but I lost facility of SSO with Windows. Please help/suggest solution. Every time when I start my Notes I need to enter my password.

Subject: SSO still not working in 8.5.2 FP4

Previous posts seem to indicate that this was resolved in version 8.5.2 FP2, but now installing FP4 in Windows 7 and SSO is not working. Service is installed and has started, but still asks for login when Notes is launched.

Subject: Single Sign-On DOES work!

Through trial and error, it was discovered that a reboot after installing Lotus Notes v8.5.2, then install the FP and reboot again has resolved this issue. It appears that even though the FP appears to be installing, it does not do so completely unless the workstation has been rebooted between installing Lotus Notes and the FP, and then again afterward.

Subject: SSO not working with windows 7 - 64 bits

I’ve the same problem here.I’ve migrated from Vista to windows 7 (64 bits). I’m using Notes 8.5.1 and the SSO is not working.

I’ve tried to enable/disable (both the service and the preference) them several time, and it still doesn’t work.

Subject: same goes for windows 7 32bit

so it seems to be a windows 7 problem no mater what.Anybody any news, is it a setting problem in win7?

Subject: Notes Single Logon on 32 & 64 bit Windows

Notes Single Logon is not supported on 64 bit windows at this time. If you are having problems with Notes Single Logon on 32 bit windows, you can check the Windows Event Viewer for events for the Notes Network Provider or Notes Single Logon Service.

You can also turn on Windows System Environment variables (Control Panel/System):

  • DEBUG_NPNOTES

  • DEBUG_NSL

both set to 1. Reboot. And npnotes.log and nsl.log will be generated with more information.

The recommended Notes solution moving forward is Notes Shared Login.
