Show result in new row instead of expanding current one

I have a couple of fields that populate and generate a list of entries. I’ve designed a table and placed these two fields in adjacent columns. However, the field displays all the results in one row instead of moving every new entry to a new row. What code can I type in to make it do that, or any settings available. I couldn’t find anything in the field properties to help me do this

under field properties, allow multiple values and use a new line as your seperator

Thats what ive done but it displays the new line in the same row by expanding it further. I want it to move to the next row

Ali,

Use doc properties to see if what you have really is multi-valued or is just a single big text string.

I think he has a single mutli-valued field and would like to display each list item in a separate row in a table. Not just on the next line but in the next row in the table - not so sure you can do this in the notes client - probably in the browser with some html.

It is multi-valued, but all the values are generated by one field. This field is in the table, but each new value is displayed in the same row as it gets expanded, any idea of how a new value could be moved to a whole new row on the table?

I suppose a workaround would be to move your field out of the table and insert some computed text into each row. Using @subset, get the first element in your field for row 1, second element in the list for for 2 and so on.

that sounds quite good. thanks a lot

a question about using the @subset . when i use @subset and display the first item, it works fine. when i type in @Subset(IStrategy1_2;2) for example, it displays both the values instead of just value number 2. how can i fix it to display just the 2nd value.

You need to do this for the second:@Subset(@Subset( FieldName; 2); -1)

for the third:

@Subset(@Subset( FieldName; 3); -1)

fourth:

@Subset(@Subset( FieldName; 4); -1)

and so on…

the last can be just:

@Subset( FieldName; -1);

One more small problem. I am dealing with a lot of records for this table and the list that generates has a huge range. I don’t even know how many elements will contain in the future and so I’m having to code each row. However, if the number of rows exceeds the number of elements, the last element keeps repeating. I don’t want it to do that. any suggestions?? also, is there anyway i can do this whole thing of moving things to the next row without entering computing text in each row seperately? and maybe just write one piece of code outside the table? please help

I would use hide when formulas for each row checking the number of elements in your list using @elements.
