Shared Address Book

Hello.

I need some help. How do I make a shared address book appear as a searchable address book on the list when I open up a new e-mail and go to address in the To field?

Subject: DIRCAT

  1. Create a directory catalog base with this model dircat5.ntf2. Config the base with names.nsf + your shared AB

  2. Modify the server doc in general settings to indicate the dircat base

Subject: It’s done but?

Thanks for you advice!

I have now made a directory catalog base with this model dircat5.ntf.

I have written in my notes.ini file:

NAMES=names.nsf,sharadd.nsf

But what should i do now? Do I need to design the database in Lotus designer? Or is there some kind of standard layout for a contactbook?

Or can i just copy-paste my personal address book to this shared addressbook?

Subject: Still not sure.

I’m not sure if it is the right way to do it, like i suggest in my latest post?

So anyone who know what to do?

Hey there Kris,

those directions are presuming you already have another address book. I would say use a personal address book template (pernames), as the directory one has loads of fields for stuff like servers and connections etc which are not neccessary if all you want to do is have contact information.

Maybe somewhere like openNTF might have a tempate you could use?
