Setting Field Values Via URL

I have a hotspot on a form just now which when used on the web should open a new form and set a couple of field values. The hotspot formula is as follows:

@SetField(“Filter”;“Completed”);

@URLOpen(“/”+@WebDbName+“/(FormName)?OpenForm&DevRef="” + DevRef + “"&Filter="”+ Filter + “"”)

Basically I set a field called Filter with a value, then open a new form called (FormName) and set the field DevRef with a value taken from the current field DevRef, and the same from the field called Filter.

I would have liked to have used inheritance, but for that I need the unid of the current document, and if I’m correct that doesn’t work until the current document has been saved, which it never will be.

The resulting URL is:

http://servername/folder/dbname.nsf/(FormName)?OpenForm&DevRef="DJIS-6VHJR3"&Filter="Completed"

This url does indeed open the form, but it doesn’t set the fields with the values I’m passing it.

Am I doing this correctly?

Hi,

There is some missing logic in your form.

Add @URLQueryString(“whatever”) in field to get the data from the url.
