Setting CREATE_R85_DATABASES=1 crashes client and

After adding the CREATE_R85_DATABASES=1 setting to the notes.ini, the client (8.5) can’t be started anymore on Vista64. Deleting the setting from the notes.ini doesn’t help.

The error message is “‘You cannot use the Administration program while…server is running’ when launching Notes”.

So far the only solution is to reinstall the client.

Has anybody a good idea how to safely enable the client for ODS51 ?

Subject: maybe the editor causes this

Found problem. Editing ini-file with notepad works well. Editing with Ultraedit resulted in the mentioned symtoms. Maybe it is a codepage problem with the ini-file ?

Any idea what type of text file is needed ?
