Set-up 7.0.2 trial at home (general q's)

Hi! I want to set up nd7 at home so I can prepare for r7 certification. I’m a developer so just a couple of admin-newbie questions to make sure I’m on the right path here before I start.

  1. Will I be able to install domino on a windows home edition os? (xp or vista or win2K)

  2. Is installing it onto a USB memory stick an option if I don’t have enough disk space?

  3. Anyone know what happens after the 3 month trial period is up – does it blow-up/lock-down?

Any advice in general?

Thanks for any tips,

– A. Jante –

Can you be specific on what you are installing - is it Notes Designer/ Admin Client or Domino Server or both …

I have been able to install Notes Client as well as server on the same PC running WindowsXP. Although it is recommended to have them on two separate machines … have’nt tried on USB flash drive - so no comments …

Bear in mind that the trial version of server gives limited functionality … but the client version is OK … I had uninstalled the server but continue to use the Client for more than 6 months now …

Both – I want to install the server so I can create an id & test ids for myself, and also create code that will run on the server. I’ll also need to install the admin & designer clients. You were able to do them both on one pc running XP home edition? That’s good to know. Thanks!

PS Did you find any cheat sheets for installing online or did you just use ibm’s install guide?
