Set icon for mail in inbox sent by formula

Hi, I need to send a mail by formula, not lotuscript. I wanted there to b an icon for easy differentiating of the nature of the email as seen in the inbox.

Is it possible? Thanks in advance.

Not if you’re using @MailSend with parameters. If you are using @MailSend without parameters to send an existing document, then you can include an icon field.

then how do i include the “icon field”?

Here’s a snippet that would assign a random icon:

icon := ( 99 - 1 )*@Random + 1;

@SetField(“_ViewIcon”; icon)

I have tried your code and cannot get the random icon to work with my agent. Where whould I insert it in the following example below?

tmp1 := @If(

Priority = “1 - High” ; [PriorityHigh] ;

Priority = “2 - Normal” ; [PriorityNormal] ;

Priority = “3 - Low” ; [PriorityLow] ; “” );

tmp2:=@DialogBox(“(SendCom)”; [AutoHorzFit] : [AutoVertFit] : [SizeToTable] : [NoCancel] : [NoOkCancel] ) ; “” ;

@If(tmp2=1; @MailSend(Assigned;“”;“”;“A Help Desk Call has been Assigned to You. Help Desk Call Number: " +@Text(CallNumber);”“;@Name([CN];@UserName)+” has assigned a help desk call to you marked as a ‘‘Priority “+Priority+”’’ concerning a ‘’“+ProbType+” - “+ProbType2+”‘’ issue."; [SIGN] : [IncludeDoclink] : tmp1 ) ; “” )

You can only set a mail icon with @MailSend if you are sending the current document, not composing a new mail memo. You can do what you want in Lotus Script with something like:

Set maildoc = New NotesDocument(db)

Set uidoc = workspace.Currentdocument

maildoc.SendTo = uidoc.FieldGetText(“Assigned”)

maildoc.Subject = "A Help Desk Call has been Assigned to You. Help Desk Call Number: " + uidoc.FieldGetText(“Call Number”)

Call maildoc.ReplaceItemvalue(“_viewicon”,23)

Call maildoc.Send (False)
