session.SendConsoleCommand

Hi,

I have the following command in a scheduled agent running on Server A. The agent is signed with a user id that has full admin rights to the server(s) and access to use remote console. In addition Server A has been added to the trusted servers field on Server B and vice versa.

I have some approved deletion requests on Server B and issue the following command from server A;

Call session.SendConsoleCommand(“ServerB”, “tell adminp process all”)

When I check the log on ServerB I can see that the command has reached the ServerB and executed - log entries appear as;

30/11/2006 16:17:38 Remote console command issued by ServerA: tell adminp process all

30/11/2006 16:17:39 Admin Process: Checking for all requests to perform

tell adminp process all

Interestingly the command is issued by the server, not the user that signed the agent. The PROBLEM is that while it appears the command has executed, the deletion requests awaiting processing are NOT processed.

If I log onto the console via the admin client, with any user with admin access and issue the same command from the console, the same information appears in the log and the requests ARE processed.

Anyone got any idea’s or comments on this? Is it simply that the SendConsole command doesn’t work correctly, or am I doing something wrong or over looking something?

Cheers

NB: When I run the command for ServerA, it will process requests on ServerA…

Are you using the fully qualified server name (server/o/u…) when you are sending console the command via code?

I normally use db.server when issuing these commands.

Subject: RE: session.SendConsoleCommand

I’m actually using NotesName.Abbreviated, do you think that using the full canonical name would help?

Also in another process another problem I’m having is when approving a deletion request for database A and database B on server A. The deletion request replicates to Server B and the database with the same name on Server A is deleted as well when the adminp process executes!?

Now, have I assumed incorrectly that the DeleteReplica request actually works on ReplicaID or does it work on filename - because the database share the same filename, but different replica id’s.

Cheers
