Server - open relay

Hi,

One of my customer seems to be an open relay for many SMTP servers. I don’t understand why since both important settings in the config are ok. Both fields (Deny messages to be sent to the following external internet domains AND Deny messages from the following internet hosts to be sent to external internet domains) have a * as value. What other setting am I missing???

Thanks for any help,

Genevieve

How are you setting the “Inbound relay Enforcement”?

Subject: RE: Server - open relay

Here they are:

Perform Anti-Relay enforcement for these connecting hosts: External hosts

Exclude these connecting hosts from anti-relay checks: mail.abloy.ca

Exceptions for authenticated users:

Allow all authenticated users to relay

Thanks for your help Raymond

Something must be making you think that it is an open relay. Are you able to telnet to the SMTP server? If so, try relaying mail off of it. Also, you can see if they are listed as an open relay at, among other sources, dnsstuff.com.

Hello Genevieve, please check if your firewalls work with NAT (Network Adress translation). All settings are whitout effect if Domino-SMTP is behind a Firewall with NAT.HTH
