Server deletes big attachments

Hi,

I’ve got a strange problem with my Notes Server. Since yesterday, our Domino Server (6.5.5) has a problem with big attachments. When i attach a file bigger than 50mb into a standard Doc-db, the document and the attachment just “disappears”.

This occured the first time when a colleague of mine attached a 1gig file into a doc-db yesterday morning. that file disappeared. There weren’t any changes made on the Server at the time or in the last few days, but I can’t imagine that this incident caused the problem.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Solutions already tried:

  • Server reboot

  • new db with big attachment showed the same behavior

  • searched for the notesid of a file. its definitly gone, not hidden

if I add 1 file with the size of 50mb, the doc and attachment gets deleted after 5 minutes(without a warning). if I add 5 files of 10mb size, nothing happens.

so it must be something about the attachment size, not the document size.

if it’s something about max sizes, I wonder why the file is saved on the server and gets deleted after 5 minutes. theres no agent running (says the log-file)

1.Can u crosscheck the Server Mail Rules that U might written rule reg attachment

2.Can u go thru Configuration document- and check MAil delivery Priority status.

3.Check the MAil.Box if those mail are stored without delivering.

ok got it:

the problem was the following:

We’ve got a Domino-Server with an emergency-mail-function, in case that our Mail-Server drowns. this emergency-mail-function has its own antivirus function.

somehow, every mail passed the emergency-mail-function and then our mail-server. and the antivirus-function had a little setting that said, the maxsize for attachments is 50mb. so it just caught the file and quarantined it.

so, just a little setting but 4 hours of work.
