Server crashes at HTTP start

Hey all.

I have installed Domino Server 6.5.4 on a Windows Server 2003 machine. I have successfully executed the setup routine and the server configuration document looks good to me. But whenever I start the server (with the HTTP task configured in notes.ini) the server crashes immediately. Only when I remove the HTTP task from the notes.ini the server starts without any problems. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.

Just to add a few information:

in a log file I found the following error after the server crashed -

ERROR (4): can’t attach to process [ nserver:0598] - (87) The parameter is incorrect.

Maybe this helps to find a solution for my problem. Thanks.

Nhhtp is crashing but it is not related (cause by) to Domino.

The process is exterior.

Do you have any special things on that server? Third parties?

You should search the NSD for this ID : 0658:0270

It will give you the Virtual ID. Then, search for that number to find the problem,

I have resolved the problem on my own. The problem was that during setup of the operating system (Windows Server 2003) a new service was not initialized, the Application Experience Lookup Service. After manually starting this service Domino started (including the HTTP task) without any problems.

Just another thought this morning:

As the error points to the JVM I tried to compile and run a simple Java class using the JVM that comes with Domino 6.5.4. Well, I was not able to compile and run the Java class. Now I will try to ‘fix’ the JVM somehow and see if this solves my problem so that the HTTP task comes up.
