I am not quite sure what happened. I used to be able to see all the activity (mail routing, etc.) on the server console. When I type in a command, like sh ta, it will list all the tasks that are running on the server. I have looked at the server configuration document and the miscellaneous controls (under mail routing) is set to Verbose. In the notes.ini, I do have Log_MailRouting =40. Also, all my mail events used to get logged in the log.nsf and now they are recorded in the statrep.nsf. If I change the setting to log.nsf, it will not record in either place. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? One last question. I have enabled monitoring of the CPU and it will report the CPU for 2 out of the 3 servers. This is also the server where the console is not reporting any activity.
In advance, thanks for your time and help.
Subject: Server Console – Not Showing Activity
Can’t say I’ve seen that behavior before. Quick questions to hopefully narrow down some possibilities, are you using the Admin Client to view the server activity, or are you actually at the server console to observe it? If you’re connecting to the server via RDP are you using the /console switch?
For the CPU monitoring, are you seeing any errors in the server event log about perfmon errors that you aren’t seeing on the other two?
Subject: RE: Server Console – Not Showing Activity
I am viewing the Server Console both from the Admin client and my pc and the actual server by going into the computer room. No errors in the server event log. It is monitoring the CPU for the other two, it is also monitoring Memory utilization and on one server it just will not monitor it even though the probes are enabled.
