"Sent" Mails Disappear on Replication

Hello, when I do the following, mail from my sent folder disappears…

  1. Send a mail (to yourself or anyone) from your local mail file.

  2. Check that the mail you have sent is in the Sent folder of your local mail file.

  3. No go to your server mail file and check that it is still not in the Sent folder there.

  4. Now replicate the mail file.

  5. You will see that the mail no longer appears in the Sent folder of either your local or server mail file. (Although it has been sent to the recipient OK).

It seems that on replication the server mail file is telling the local mail file to delete the “Sent” mail rather than to put the “Sent” mail into the server Sent folder.

Is this the standard setup for everyone?

Can the replication settings can be set so that the mails stay in the Sent folder when this situation happens?

Subject: I’ve found out what is happening.

Explaination: When you create a mail in local AND put yourself in the sendto or cc field then the email will be removed from the sent folder when the mail file is replicated. This is the way it is designed in Notes presumably to avoid duplicated copies of mails and to save space.

I think you have a selective replication set up in your local mail file, and your sent documents do not match the formula.
