Sending SMTP Email

Hi,

We’re experiencing a problem on our Domino Server where any emails being sent to btinternet.com, btopenworld.com or yahoo.com queue for a long time at our server.

Mostly they get bounced back to the sender eventually although a small number get through.

I’ve tried debugging the server using the SMTPDebug and SMTPDebugIO config settings but they didn’t seem to bring up anything useful.

The server console logs messages from the router like:

13/08/2004 17:15:10 Router: No messages transferred to BTOPENWORLD.COM (host mx1.bt.mail.yahoo.COM) via SMTP: SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

13/08/2004 17:15:10 Router: No messages transferred to BTINTERNET.COM (host mx1.bt.mail.yahoo.COM) via SMTP: SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

13/08/2004 17:15:10 Router: No messages transferred to BTOPENWORLD.COM (host mx2.bt.mail.yahoo.COM) via SMTP: SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

13/08/2004 17:15:10 Router: No messages transferred to BTINTERNET.COM (host mx2.bt.mail.yahoo.COM) via SMTP: SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

13/08/2004 17:15:14 Router: Failed to connect to SMTP host BTINTERNET.COM because SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

13/08/2004 17:15:14 Router: Failed to connect to SMTP host BTOPENWORLD.COM because SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to solve this?

Thanks

Keith

The error is to broad to really do anything with. Try using a sniffer/tracer for some more detailed information.
