Sending a Lotus Invite from VB.NET

Hi Guys,

I have developed a module in VB.NET (.NET 1.1) which scans a database and sends e-mail if there are records that meet some criteria. What I now want to do is send a lotus meeting invite instead of a plain text e-mail.

Can anyone tell me how to do this. I am hoping to do it without having a lotus client on the server, however if this is the only way then I will have to live with it. I have looked at the Lotus Notes API and it isnt obvious how you generate and send a lotus meeting invite.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

Any help is as always greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

If you are considering third party products, Proposion N2N offers two ways to accomplish this. Use the ADO.NET interfaces to insert (and optionally send) Notes documents the way you would with relational database records, with full control of the fine-grained item names and values. Or use N2N’s Collaboration Objects with its easy-to-use “CalendarEntry” object, which has the logic of calender & invitation processing built in. See Products A-Z.
