Server A hosts DB1.nsf, which have a agent with a SendConsoleCommand method. This method runs a command on Server B.
This is from the documentation:
“If this method is executed on a client, the current user must have privilege under “Full Remote Console Administrators” on the server receiving the console command.”
Well, we don’t want regular users to have this access, so I thought the “run on behalf” should work. But with no luck. The user is given a not authorized error message.
With other users, which is within a group, which has been gived access to "“Run unrestricted methods and operations” and “Full Remote Console Administrators”, this is not a problem. But these persons are admins. The regular users I now want to be able to run this agent, should be gived these rights. So, what else do I need to set up, in order to have this work?
The agent is now set to run on behfalf of me, which have all rights on the server, with no luck for these regular users.
Subject: RE: SendConsoleCommand - from client - what’s wrong?
Why not just write some lotusScript that calls the Agent using the RunOnServer method? This does exactly the same thing without requiring console access.
So create an action button, LotusScript. You can hide action button so only certain users can see for example
Subject: RE: SendConsoleCommand - from client - what’s wrong?
I have similar problem and I am using console command “Show Users” to get the list of users using the server. If running agent.RunOnServer the return value is empty or null.
But using “agent.Run” works fine.
Seems “SendConsoleCommand” does not work if executed from agent called by RunOnServer.
