Send To from MS Office

We are having a problem with MS Office not registering Lotus Notes as a default mail system, so that users can use the Send To feature. I have read numerous articles in the forums with suggested fixes (registry hacks, win.ini updates, etc), but none seem to work.

We have noticed that if you install Office prior to installing Lotus Notes then it seems to work. However, there are instances that require a re-install of one or the other, and then the feature breaks.

Has anyone else seen this? If so, have you found a permanent fix. I have seen this in all versions from 6.5 to 7.0.3. Any help is apprcieated!

Thanks

What version of MS Office are you using? We had this issue with Lotus 6.5.1 and Office 2000 SP3. Our fix was changing IE Settings to default to Lotus as the Email Client. Once that was done, it was fixed.

This is Office 2003 SP3 as well. However, it didn’t turn out to be such a simple fix for us. That was actually the first place I looked, and Lotus Notes was already set as the default. Thanks though. I appreciate the response.

I found this Microsoft KB article about this problem:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834008&Product=off2003

I am pasting here an extract from it:

Locate and then click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem registry key.

You should have the following registry values listed in the Windows Messaging Subsystem key:

Name Type Data

MAPI REG_SZ 1

CMC REG_SZ 1

CMCDLLNAME REG_SZ Mapi.dll

CMCDLLNAME32 REG_SZ Mapi32.dll

MAPIX REG_SZ 1

MAPIXVER REG_SZ 1.0.0.1

OLEMessaging REG_SZ 1

This is what has worked for me.
