"send copy to" mail rule sending duplicate messages

Hello,

I have searched the forum but have yet to find a similar issue that a user is having using the “send copy to” mail rule.

He has the iNotes mail template (customised slightly unfortunately - was before I arrived) and has one rule of “send copy to” for all documents. The rule works but sends two copies of each document. I have tried the following but nothing has helped:

  1. Disabled and re-enabled the rule

  2. Disabled, deleted and recreated the rule

  3. Refreshed the design of the mail template

  4. Replaced the design of the mail template

The server log entry shows the duplicates being routed out:

Router: Message 002E9C9E auto forwarded by User Name/Domain to user.name@address.com

Router: Message 002E9C9E auto forwarded by User Name/Domain to user.name@address.com

I have been unable to recreate this error with anyone else who uses the same mail template and rule.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can stop the duplicates?

Sorted. Tried some code that I found in this forum for a different mail rule issue and it has worked, thanks to the person who issued it:

In your mail file create a memo, place your cursor in the body and go to Create > Hot spot > Button. In the middle of the prorammers pane on the right you’ll see the word Formula, change that to Lotus Script then paste this code in the formula window:

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim s As New NotesSession

Dim db As NotesDatabase

Dim doc As NotesDocument

Set db = s.currentdatabase

Set doc = db.GetProfileDocument(“CalendarProfile”)

Call doc.Remove(True)

End Sub

Send the memo to the user having the problem and have them click the button. Then have them close their mailbox then have them go back in and go to Tools > Preferences. This will create a new Calendar profile where they can reset their preferences. This should get rid of the rogue rule.
