Selling Notes to a reluctant client

I have a client that I think is the perfect candidate for Notes, but the owner has some preconceived notion about it and doesn’t want to use it. But he has defined his NEEDS and now I need to find a solution that fits that. If there is no other/better solution, then I’ll have some good ammunition. To that end, I want to be sure there isn’t something else out there that will do these things:

Run on Macs

Allow a central office admin to access/coordinate multiple user calendars

Synchronize with Treo (and other hand-helds) both wirelessly and wired

Allow web access to email, calendar, etc.

I can’t think of anything that will do everything above other than Notes/Domino – though I am not too familiar with Mac – but I’d appreciate thoughts from others.

They have 10 users currently, but are growing.

Thanks

Your description sounds like a very good fit for Notes/Domino.

Ed points out some good information. However, if your client has defined his needs then who cares what the technology is that allows him to achieve his goals? If it is Notes/Domino, great. If it is something else, that’s fine, too. The needs that you have outlined are ones that can be addressed by Notes/Domino. If this client has an issue with Notes/Domino, perhaps he hasn’t seen it lately. The interface has changed drastically in recent years and will change again (for the better) in Notes 8. You can get screen shots of the coming release at lotus.com.

And he isn’t tied a particular server OS or workstation OS. He has choices. What’s not to like?

HTH.
