My problem is how to make a similair solution when I need to select values from column 1 (number-code) in the database above but also need to show values from column 2 (name) at the same time.
This I can do by a viewlookup but as the DB (path) is not the same for all lookups I cannot use this.
Subject: Select values from one column but show two columns
I’m not sure I understand however, I have a couple instances where I need values, at different times, from different databases within the same form. I’ve created a hidden view in each of the remote databases with a {key column} and a {data column) that has a column formula containing several fields. For example in one, it holds employee data: 1st column is NotesID and 2nd column is Common Name+“~”+DirectPhone+“~”+Title+“~”+Supervisor… etc
Then a hidden computed field in the form I’m building does a @dbLookup based upon NotesID and gets all the other fields at once… then I simply parse what I want for individual fields from that hidden field.
You can enable refresh fields on keyword change on the 1st field that changes the ‘key’ used in the 2nd field’s @dbLookup - and that ‘key’ could be which hidden field to reference… you have one hidden field for each potential database you might need… each of these fields holds however many fields you might need.
Sounds complicated, but it’s only because it’s not easy to explain… does this help?
