Far too broad and complex question to cover in this forum and it’s all in Notes/Domino help anyway.

For application security, review “Security in an application” in Designer Help.

For the rest, review the Security section in Administrator Help.

Hi Madhav,

              This is one of the important question that is being asked in the interviews.we have Different levels of security.

1.Networklevel

2.Database level

3.design level

4.Field level

In this way we have different levels of security.

          a.  Coming to network security,we dont deal more with it in Lotus Notes.No need to explain more about it as well.

           b.Database level security is nothing but ACL's(Access Control List).

            c.Design level security is nothing but form level security,view level security.If u right click the Forms or Views and see the properties,u can find one tab called Security Tab.By making us of the propertis available in that tab ,we can provide design level security.

           d.Coming to field level security,we can provide security using Field Encryption,Authors field,readers field etc.These all come under field level security.

Coming from Network level to bottom of the field level,your security level increases and is more secure.

I mean database level is more saecure than network level,Design level is more secure than Database level,Field level is more secure than Design level.
