Scheduled Agent not sending mails

Hello all.

I have an agent that is doing everything except for sending mails.

So for troubleshooting, I created a Db on the server, the Db contains one form and an agent, the agent is scheduled and has a two line simple formula code:

Document Selection:

field Status contains Complete AND field NotificationStatus contains “Not Sent”

Action:

@MailSend(“My Notes ID” ; “”; “”;" Subject";“Body”; “”;[IncludeDoclink]);

@SetField(“Check”;“Notification Sent”);

The agent is running fine manually.

But when the agent runs on schedule, it is modifying the Status field in the form but is not sending mail.

It is sending the SMTP mails,i.e. if I mention the internet address instead of notes id, it is sending the mails.

In the log.nsf, the error says no match found in Name & Address Book(s).

I got to know that @mailsend was a problem in version 6.5.3 but dont know if it has been addressed in version 7 and 7.1

I am new to the domino admin, please help me solve the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Akash,

I would look in the N&A Book to see if there is a single match for this address. Your personal mail server might say that there is, or might find a group, but that only helps when you run the agent manually.

Thanks Raphael,

I checked for the name in the N&A books, its not there.

Will the cross certification of the server with my domain will help? or some other configuration is required.

Thanks

Akash,

If the name isn’t there, then the background agent will fail when it tries to send. You can either make an entry in the N&A Book (recommended), or else have the agent send to “name@domain” in which case it doesn’t bother checking the N&A Book for the entry.

make sure the db has a default view and a default form assigned in designer. there are required for @MailSend to funtion properly in a scheduled agent.
