Hello everyone, Having some trouble using Sametime Proxy 11.6 and FCM push notification service.
On Android version (any model/type) of Mobile sametime client, if we keep sametime app running in the background, push message notification receiving fine.
After closing the sametime mobile app (Android) from the background (remain online is set for 1 days), no push message is receiving nor receiving any chat notification.
Apple iOS push notification is working fine on both condition either running or closing the app from background. no problem in apple push notification.
Only facing problem with Android push notification.
Any suggestion?
Note: no middle proxy is in use, all in/out 80,443 port allowed for sametime proxy.
Note: Ensure Firwall ports configure properly.

We have already open a support case and they are working with it for last 30 days. Issue still not resolve yet. We have tried creating two new dumy user and make sure both user is not using any desktop client, rich client or another mobile client. And result is the same, android mobile client not receiving any notification after closing app from background. FCM Notification working if apps keep running in background.

Dont know if we am correct or imagine it, its look like after we close the Sametime Android Mobile app from the background, the sametime app somehow get killed and stop receiving push notification. And after if we run the app again it just login and connect again (!!!) and start receiving messages. BTW, HCL support team still trying to solve the problem and case still open.
We have found the same behavior around 12 different android devices. App running in the background and keep the device screen on or off, push notification is receiving. After closing the app from the background and no push notifiction is receiving either device screen on or off.

BTW, No probs with iOS devices.
We have just find out Close the sametime app from the backgroud also will kill the app as this is a android behaviour and no push notification will receive. (from HCL Support Statement).
So we tried to figure it out why then others Chat apps like Messanger or Whatsapp work even we close them from the background. After enable Android Development mode and check the running services, we have found whatsapp and messanger have running services but there is no HCL Sametime running service! Please Check th screen shot.
Hope there will be a fix/update for HCL Sametime (Android) will also have a Service like other chat apps do.
