what release of sametime do you need to run withnotes 7.0.1 also can it be installed on the same
domino server under a different directory?

Any version above 6.5 will be fine. You can install the sametime server on a mail server. However, if you are going to have a lot of users login in I would advice separating it. If you will be using whiteboard, broadcast meeting, install ST on a separate server…

Yes, you will need either Sametime 7.0 or Sametime 7.5. Like Carlos said, you can run it on your mail server, but take some CPU and memory usage snapshots before and after adding Sametime to make sure that you’re not taking too much of a hit.
