Sametime 8.0.2 on Linux, does not connect

Dear All,

We have upgraded and/or installed Lotus Notes 8.5.1 client, including FixPack 2, on our users PCs powered by SLED-10.

Unfortunately, however, barring one, none of the users have been able to connect to the sametime server through the integrated Lotus Sametime 8.0.2.

No error message is displayed upon feeding the authenticating information, viz., usernames and passwords. Upon checking with the settings, it shows that sametime has not connected at all.

Subject: /etc/hosts

Found that these PCs did not have the relevant entry in /etc/hosts - checked the same, inserted, but still no luck.

Subject: Sametime Connect Client - solved the problem.

Solved the problem in a roundabout fashion. Installed “sametime-connect-8.0.2-1.i586.rpm” to solve the problem.
