Sametime 12 - connecting different sametime communities

Hello,

i have a customer who wants to migrate from Sametime 11.x to Sametime 12 on docker.

There is a question i could not answer or find any documentation about it.

Sametime 11.x or older on domino basis was possible to communicate with other sametime servers in different communities. There was a mixture of domino x-cert and replication and sametime communication of TCP 1516 (vp protocol).

The customer has a connection to a friendly sametime community via vp protocol and wants to use this connection also in ST12.

Is there a way to use this with ST12 ? I did not find any information how to configure this.

Also there is a question about the ST-Mux. In older version this could be a standalone service fronted to sametime. Do i need to install standalone ST11.6 mux to connect to ST12/docker because there is no Mux package for ST12 and add trusted ip settings via custom.env ?

In V12, we don't expose 1516 to allow for Connections like you describe. While it might be possible to do so, we have not tested this combination.

I would suggest to open an Enhancement Request (AHA) so that we can get this on the roadmap as a possibility.
