RTF to PDF with Itext or Other Advice

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has succesfully managed to get Rich Text from a RT field into a PDF, I currently use iText which is a great free product, but are struggling to get that RT into PDF format.

I know you can use the RtfParser in older verison of Itext but this is not supported anymore and the output is spurious and inconsistent.

Are there any other good products for creating PDF from domino where you can include Rich Text data.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Regards

Any reason you can’t just print to PDF using something like PDFCreator?

Subject: Export to PDF utility

Hi Aden,

If you’re considering a 3rd party product we have an Export Utility for Lotus Notes which enables exporting of Lotus Notes documents and view data to the following formats:

  • PDF

  • HTML

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft Access

  • Microsoft Word

  • CSV

  • Fixed Width

  • XML

  • And other character delimited formats

Attachments and OLE objects within documents can be exported and these are included as attachments within the rendered PDF document.

You can configure the PDF bookmarks, headers, footers and page numbers.

For more information and to download the product please visit our website at:

Single user license costs less than an hour of development time.

Hope it helps.

Aden,

You may consider this tool as well:

It includes both a LotusScript API and a toolbar add-on (if you prefer to install it out of the box). Take a look at these screencasts:

If you wonder how this tool/API compares with other PDF solutions:
