Router: Unable to open mailbox file <server name> mail.box: The server is not responding

I am having the following problem in my Lotus notes email services.

Setup: we have 4 server on four different locations and one central server.

  1. All the other server send there email via the central server.

  2. The central server can talk to other server .

My problem is that out of the four sites emails are getting sent to other server in 2 of them. That is when is send an email from my A server it is not reaching the D server.

And i am gettign the following error msg

Router: Unable to open mailbox file mail.box: The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists.

Make sure your servers have the same NotesNetwork name on the server doc in the nab (located on the Ports tab).

one more thing i forgot … if i log in to either of the server from Admin and send email to the same it is reaching its desitnation only when a user user sends it from there login i have this issue and two of this server is fine in sending email to all the other servers

Hey Jude,

Could you be more clear in what you are trying to do? Or what you already did to solve this?

For me it is not clear what you are saying.

Are you saying:

  1. the domino server is up and running but you cannot send emails to the users on that server?

  2. are users ableto send email from that server to internet or internally?

  3. Are you able to send emails to users on that server?

Please specify better…

below i have listed what my problem is …

I have 4 server which is in a network in differnet location say A,B,C,D - A is the central server which connects to all the other server and sends mail to them also(all email are routed through A).

now my problem is two server in the network are not getting emails from each other say B,C. B is not getting email from C but it is getting from all the other server and similarly C is not getting email from B and getting email from all the other server.

  1. When i login to admin console of the server B or C and try sending a email between them it works. even if i send email from any of the user between these 2 server from admin it works but when the user logs into his computer and tries he is not able to send the email.

Till now i have not done any trouble shooting in this issue.
