Subject: DNS Resolver

I believe that this occurs when DNS is not available to your Domino server. Check with your Network Administrator.

If that doesn’t provide you with any satisfaction, use a different DNS:

Subject: Router: DNS Resolver failed to initialize.: DNS resolver

Dear Greg,

My Network admin said to disable the dns in my application server. How to disable DNS in domino.

Thanks

Ramesh

Subject: Disable DNS

Domino gets its DNS from the operating system. That setting is in the TCP/IP Settings for the server.

That is, unless you use the dnsserver= line in the Notes.ini. Then, Domino gets DNS from where you tell it.

Subject: Check nslookup at OS level

Hi,

Open a command prompt from the SMTP Server at OS level. Type nslookup and see the DNS servers the OS is using. Then type:

Set type=mx

yahoo.com

If you see any errors here, contact the network admin and correct the DNS server issue. If this resolves successfully , you need to check the server notes.ini for any incorrect dns server entries.
