If I understand correctly, you want to take the user to the “Redirect Form?” and at least one field pre-filled in from the value in the previous form?
Unfortunately, There will be no inheretance from the one document to the next through $$Return.
Depending on the nature and sensitivity of the information being inherited, You could pass the “Inherited Field” through the URL, and parse it out using the CGI variable: HTTP_Referer
For example, to pass the Username to the next form…
Keep your URL,
Plus, add Identifiers, in this case, "PassUser "and “FavouriteColour”
Then concatenate with strings so you come up with a target URL like:
Then you can use @ formulas to strip out the values you need inherited.
Beware: anything you put in the URL will be passed in clear text, so don’t send passwords or other sensitive info. (Not even sure SSL will protect you from all listeners.)
If the “Redirect” is a simple page, like a “Thank You”, just compute the HTML you want displayed, - I use a HTTP:Refresh Meta tag to redirect the user after a couple seconds of looking at my thankyou screen
Don’t bother with the $$Return field. Use your QuerySave agent to generate html or launch a form. All Print statements in your web query save agent get sent directly to the browser. This allows you to do all kinds of things such as launching a custom thank you window.
