Hello;I am hoping to get a little feedback to help me get started on a project. If anyone knows of any other sources for information, I would be greatly appreciative.
Our company needs a “Resume Notes database” where resumes are scanned in and stored electronically then routed via email to reviewers.
I am trying to decide what template to start with, extended mail, mail etc…Also, are there scanning capabilities in Notes?
Subject: Some solutions for Lotus Notes that I know of…
I in no way endorse one of these products over another.
Imaging Systems - Imaging For Notes IMiS – The complete imaging solution for the Lotus Notes and Domino.Doc environment.
Cobra Technology - Cobra Image Router (CIR) is the premier tool that integrates networked scanning and digital imaging devices with the powerful routing, data store and collaboration capabilities of Lotus Notes and Domino.Doc. CIR communicates directly with these devices to intelligently route images into the Lotus Notes and Domino environment. CIR routing destinations are simply configured using a Lotus Notes user interface, and include; a Domino.Doc binder, any Lotus Notes database, Lotus Notes and Internet email addresses, websites based on Domino, and fax gateways. A user simply selects a destination from the control panel of the scanning device, and with a touch of a button, paper documents are transformed into digital information and delivered to the Lotus environment.
eCopy - Connector for Lotus Notes/Domino - With the eCopy Connector for Lotus Domino, you can integrate paper documents seamlessly into your Lotus Notes mail client for instantaneous distribution internally or over the Internet. Provides the ability to email scanned documents directly from your eCopy-enabled digital copier or scanner and provides the ability to access your company’s Lotus Notes address books directly at the hardware device.
Thank you both for your replies. I set up a Document library with reviewing cababilities but how can I get this DB to accept mail? Or do I have to point another DB to this one.The database that recieves the resumes is Human Resources which is a mail in DB. Is there a way for the HR database to send to the new database and have it accept the mail?
You could use a Document Library, that has a reviewers section. The scanning would have to be done by an external application. We have networked copiers that do scanning and I set up a mail-in database so people can scan in the documents, e-mail them to the mail-in database, then the users go in and assign the reviewers.
