I searched the forums and didn’t see anything on this particular problem, heopfully someone here can help me get pointed in the right direction.
I recently upgraded to R6 on all servers on my network. The resource.nsf file is still using the R5 template however. Recently I tried to add a new resource by opening the resource.nsf file and clicking the Add resource button. The new resource was created without a problem and it even sent the request to the admip process to create the entry in the mail-in database and add it to the address book, both of which it did successfully. However whenever I try to schedule this new resource it won’t allow me to schedule it. I noticed an error in the log that goes as follows:
03/27/2003 09:26:14 AM SchedMgr: Error processing calendar profile document (NoteID: NT00010812) in database Resource.nsf: Can’t find $BusyName field on profile
I don’t remember where I saw this but it looks like the address that Adminp entered into the address book does not look to be correct. The adress I noticed was something like Training Room/JAX -FL/JAX - FL
Obviously there are two problems here. One there is a missing space in between the dash and FL (JAX -FL) and second there are two JAX -FL endings… The name of the resource as shown in both the mail in database and in resource.nsf is Training Room and the location is called JAX - FL.
I have three questions:
Any idea what is causing this?
Any idea how to correct it?
If I upgraded to the R6 template will my R5 users still be able to use the resource reservations without a problem or are there caveats that I should be aware of?

Hi David
I am in allmost the same situation you where back in 2003 !
Do you remember what did the trick ?
I have recently opgraded to version 6.5 and in the same run upgraded the ressource reservation to version 6 template.
I only get this message on some of my ressources

Dave,
Please let me know what release the 5.x resource design is, and what client build you used to add the resource.
Also, can you re-create this at will?
Any idea what is causing this? - There are 2 problems, the server error is most likely temporary until the adminp process completed. The other is unknown to me.
Any idea how to correct it? Not sure what the real bug is.
If I upgraded to the R6 template will my R5 users still be able to use the resource reservations without a problem or are there caveats that I should be aware of? Yes they should still be able to use it fine.
Subject: RE: Resource Reservations - Creating a new resource problem
The resource template was R5 from the R5.0.8 install I believe. The client I used to add the resource was R6.0.0
Yes I can recreate this at will. And I don’t think that the error is temporary as I still can’t reserve this resource and the adminp process has already completed.
I think I am going to try upgrading to the R6 template for the resource database then if it is backward compatibable and see if that helps at all.

David,
I have not been able to re-create this given a matching environment. Please contact your LSM to report this issue if you can recreate. They will gather all information including your template if this can be re-created.
Subject: RE: Resource Reservations - Creating a new resource problem
I am having a similar problems. When a new “OTHER” resource is created, it is saved as ITEM/RESOURCE CATAGORY/RESOURCE CATEGORY instead of ITEM/RESOURCE CATAGORY/SITE. However, when a ROOM is created, it is saved as the correct manner (Or how it has been done in R5). The result means that the “other” resources are not bookable. Our server is at 6.0.1-CF1.
Subject: RE: Resource Reservations - Creating a new resource problem
Try the following workaround:-When creating a new Resouce with Resource Type as Other, fill in the fields in the form with the following order:-
-
Enter Resource Type=Others
-
Enter Resource Category > Refresh
-
Select Site >Refresh
-
Enter Resource Name>Refresh
The normal way user would filled up is by the following order 1,4,3,2 (refer nos. to steps above) due to the arrangement of the fields in the form. It has been found out that somehow the computed field that generates the hirarchical name (ResourName) are not computing it right when details are entered in the latter order.

I am getting the same error. Of course, my NoteID is different. Anyway to delete this Noteid?
