Rescheduling for meeting in alternative time zone broken

A while back I scheduled a repeating meeting in an alternative time zone (PST, I am in GMT) in order that the bulk of the participants didn’t have to adjust in the period where the US and UK daylight savings are out of step.

I just tried rescheduling an instance of this meeting, using Actions => Reschedule – Look at Detailed Schedules.

From the way that the “Free Time” is rendered in the detailed schedule dialog it’s clear that the timings along the x axis are in my local time (my own availability being shown as 9am to 8pm). If I select a time, and click OK, I see that the selected time is then used as the wall clock time for the meeting time zone, not the local time zone as indicated by the dialog. This resulted in me scheduling a meeting for myself at 1AM in error.

Is this a known issue?

I’ve had a similar issue just presented to me. The user, based on the East Coast, accepted a repeat meeting while on the West Coast. When he returns, the time still reflects PST (clearly marked on the entry). Not sure if there’s a connection.

He may have also been using a PDA to accept the meeting, which throws another wrench into this.

Perhaps not so similar. Unsure. But you’re not suffering alone.
