Repost/Update: Resource Reservation across domains

Sorry to have to repost on this one, but I have made some headway with this setup. Here is where I stand at this time.

  1. Servers are in two separate domains, and address books are being replicated between the two , and directory assistance working.

  2. Servers are cross certified.

  3. Connection documents exist for mail and replication.

  4. Adjacent Domain documents are setup with proper calendar servers entered. (I have verified that this is working by scheduling a meeting with a user in the other domain).

For test, I copied one resource from the Address Book on the server in DomainB and placed it in my Address Book (Domain A).

I tried to create a reservation for this database, and a message was sent to their server (I assume to the reservations.nsf DB). However, it is at this point I am having a problem. For some reason, their server sends it back to mine, and the cycle continues, until the “Maximum Hop Count” has been exceeded.

Anyone have any ideas?

If I am understanding you correctly you are able to replicate SMTP but are having difficulty with larger .NSF traffic.

So far it sounds more of a matter of networking than with Notes. Theres alot of variables here to consider but have you done a more simple tracert from one machine to the other? Your indicating a “maxiumum hop count” of how many? How many routers are between these two machines? Are you using RIP or OSPF/BGP?

Start with the simple reality check with tracert and get some sort of baseline. That will tell you if its really a Notes problem or a networking problem.

Thanks for the post Brent.

However, this has nothing to do with network traffic. I am able to send mail to this server when it is destined for end users. However, in terms of the reservations database, then it ends up in a routing loop.
