REPOST: Problem with edit mode

I have a webform. I have set user A in the Author field on the form and also set the same user in ACL as Author and Maximum Internet name in Author.

Now when I open with user B it shows the form in non edit mode. Is it possible the form should appear in edit mode but User B can not edit that form.

Main concern is when user B opens the form which is created by A User, it shows the fields in non edit mode, I want those field appear in edit mode(shape of the fields) but User B cannot edit the fields.

Thanks for help.

You can achive this by some work around.

Add one hidden Computed for Dispaly field - “IsAuthor” - which will check whether user is Author or Not. Based on value of this give Hide When to Editable Fields.

Add one more set of Fields or just Computed Text with HTML tags written in it. which will display value of original fields. And make HTML attribute of these fields as readonly.

When User B Opens the form, Original Fields will be Hidden and these HTML fields which are readonly will be visible.

If User B has Author Access on this database then you should not have any problem in opening document in Edit Mode. But take care to Hide Save / Other action Buttons from User B.
