I have a database that has an (to me, anyway) unusual problem – The database is replicated between 5 servers. On two of those servers, the database size stays relatively stable, around 1.2 GB. On the other 3 servers, the size of the database grows at an alarming rate. It will go up to anywhere from 30 to 60 GB in a matter of days. Running copy-style compact reduces the database back to its original size, but then it starts growing again.
I contacted Lotus Support, and they looked at the database design, and stated they could find no reason why this was happening. It’s only this one database, we do not have this problem with any other database replicating between these servers.
There seem to be no constants I can point to, to help determine where the problem lies.
The replica resides on our replication hub server, plus 2 application servers, plus 2 mixed use (app and mail) servers.
The rep hub server is running Domino 6.5.3 on Win2k
one app and one mixed-use server are running Domino 6.0.4 on Win 2003, one app and one mixed-use server are running Domino 6.0.4 on Win2k.
Users have no access to our replication hub server.
I have pulled new replicas to all servers. That resolved the size issue on one server, but not on the other ones.
If anyone has any insight, or advice, I would greatly appreciate it. For now, I have set up a program to run copy-style compact on this database every night. But I would really like to resolve this issue.
TIA,
Pam
