I upgraded our CEO this morning from 5.0.7 to 6.5. I did not encounter any problems or errors during the upgrade. When I ran Replace Design on the database, the Navigation pane has taken on the 6.5 look but the Action Bar still appears as 5.0.7. (The new buttons for Follow-up , Tools, View Unread, etc. are not appearing.) I ran Replace Design again, no luck. I ran Refresh Design, no luck. I even tried forcing the refresh from the server console in Domino Administrator and no change. Is there something else I am missing?
Subject: Replace Design did not upgrade Action Bar
Are you talking about his mailfile or something else? My first guess would be that there are design elements which are marked to not be refreshed. You’ll have to check that with a Designer client. Start by checking the properties of the elements in question. It may be worth going through every design element in case someone customized it for him in the past.

Thanks for the response Doug. I am talking about his mailfile. All elements seemed to have updated to 6.5 except the Action Bar. Do you know where I would find the properties for the Action Bar? I’m pretty certain no one customized his mail database. I am the only person with Designer installed.
Each action bar is its own entity in a design element. For example, the Inbox action bar pertains just to the Inbox.
Do you happen to be in one of his Folders? All personal folders are created with the flag “Do not allow design/refresh to update…” If this is the case, to upgrade the folder design choose Actions - Upgrade Folder Design.

Debbie,
Thank you for the response. I discovered that the user had 2 $Inbox folders. One shows that it was last modified by Lotus Notes Template Development and the other was last modified by the user. The one that was modified by the user had No Refresh checked. From the design properties, I removed the Prohibit design refresh … from the design and then ran Replace Design. The Inbox now has the 6.5 features.
