Renaming mail file

Can I rename a mail file. What steps do I need to take for changeing the mail file for a user.

Is enough to rename the mailfile in file explorer and then change in the adressbook ?

Can I rename a file in the webadmin gui ?

nope ! I just wanna change a name of the mailfile. Thats all.It has nothing to do with the domain ore anything. I just wanna have a diffrent name of the mailfile and since I am a newbee at this I thought I ask before proceeding doing something stupid…

What r u trying to do.

Rename the mail file (nsf) at OS level OR r u trying to change the description of the file.

I want to change the name of a mail file for a users on os level !Is it just to change the file in Windows File explorer and then what ? Do I not have to tell Domino that the users file is no longer xxxx.nsf it is now yyyy.nsf

Hi

If you change the mail file name you must make the following changes.

  1. Person document in the server…basic–mail file name.

  2. If using notes client to login…change the location document-mail–mail file.

  3. Check the ACL

Not sure if its the only change required…never tried.
