Removing Plug-ins or Widgets Using Policies

Custom Eclipse plug-ins can be stored in an Eclipse Update Site database and deployed to Notes clients using a Policy document that pushes Widgets defined in the Widget Catalog. Is there any way to administratively remove plug-ins that have been deployed?

Subject: Policies don’t remove …

I was asking IBM support almost exactly this question today - and the response was:“I don’t believe that removing a policy, for any of our policies, affects what has already been pushed down.”

We have been seeing this in our testing - widgets that have been pushed down stay on the client, even after the user has been removed from the policy that deployed them.

A further note …

We DID find that if you had deployed widget A and are now removing that widget category from the effective policy and replacing it with a different widget category, the old widget WILL get removed from the user’s sidebar when the new one is deployed.
