Hello, We had to install new domino server, during installation we used existing server.id, cert.id and admin.id.(it is not possible to use whole old domino data directory)
Now I need to copy existing databases (that is ok) however I do not know how to “register” existing people from old installation - I have their IDs, I know their passwords. there is just 5 users in domino directory).
Is there any possibility how to do that?
(I got info that it is not possible just copy and paste from old server’s names.nsf to new names.nsf]
I guess it should be quite easy If during installation I am able to use existing admin ID and register this User…

Is the new server going to be in the same domain? I suppose so since you used the old id’s. Why can’t you copy over the entire data directory? Is that a restriction on your end?
You sound like you are simply moving the server to a new machine. You can use the instructions in the technote below. The trick is though, you have to keep the exact same paths for your program and data directories for this to work.
