I have a script that modifies fields in docs in a view. However, a computed field in the docs does not refresh unless I manually go into each doc and click on a field. Only then does it update/refresh the computed field. What code should I use in a scheduled agent to refresh all these docs in the view so they are up to date? Formula or LotusScript? Thanks.
Subject: Refreshing Doc in a View
hi
try doc.computeWithForm
there’s a couple of parameters you’ll need toread up on in the help file.
A couple of words of caution:
-
It can be hard to debug issues with computed fields when this method is called, as you only get the text of the error (i.e. text expected etc), but not the field name
-
@DBLookups on your form will return “” when compute with form is used. Don’t ask me why - they just do. Let me know if you need a workaround for this. I have one, but don’t want to go into the gory details unless you need it

Subject: RE: Refreshing Doc in a View
Unfortunate ComputeWithForm won’t work as it is only a document validation function. I need to be able to refresh the all the docs fields in the view. Unfortunately, refresh only works w/ uidocs, not docs. Any other suggestions?
